Minimum Requirements
APICS certification exams can be taken by anybody. There is no minimum age, qualification or work experience required. You need not be an APICS member for taking APICS certification exams.

Examination Registration Fees

Please note that out of the total fees amount, 12.36% service tax on entire fees amount, per exam is the non-refundable.
Indian citizens pay registration fees in Indian rupees only. You can combine the drafts for more than one exam and more than one person.
The rupee draft must be drawn in favour of "KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED” payable at Mumbai. Alternatively, you can also do Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) to our HDFC Bank A/C No 01822320000422 or our ICICI Bank A/C No 026 705 001 137. Please mention your name and APICS ID number in the Comments/Remarks column while doing the EFT and send the transaction number and other details by e-mail.

Exam Locations
An exam location will open for an exam date only if there are at least 15 exams registered for that exam date for that location. Candidates will be informed immediately after KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED Registration Deadline, if an exam location will not open. Candidates will have the choice to ask back their registration fee drafts, or choose another exam location. If KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED is unable to contact a candidate, the registration fee drafts will be sent back to the candidate automatically.

CPIM Morning Exams

8:30 a.m. - Report to the testing center if you are registered for one of the morning exams. No candidates will be admitted after this time.
9:00 a.m. - Exam begins (approximately).
12:30 p.m. -  Exam ends (approximately).

CPIM Afternoon Exams

  Master Planning of Resources, or

  Strategic Management of Resources

1:30 p.m. - Report to the testing center if you are registered for one of the afternoon exams. No candidates will be admitted after this time.
2:00 p.m.-  Exam begins (approximately).
5:30 p.m. - Exam ends (approximately).

There are two Paper & Pencil Exam Registration Forms. The first one is printed in the APICS CPIM 2008 International Registration Bulletin, called APICS CPIM Paper-and-Pencil Exam Registration Form, and the second one is provided by KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED, called KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED Paper & Pencil Exam Registration Form.
You must ONLY fill up the form provided by KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED

Change of Exam, Change of Test Centre in India or Rescheduling to Next Available Exam Date in India
If a candidate wishes to change the subject he or she is registered to take or wishes to register at a different test centre within India, a written request must be received by KnoWerX before the deadline given. There is no fee for changes in test centre or subject. However, for rescheduling to next available exam date in India each rescheduling request must accompany draft @ Rs.1, 000 + 12.36% service tax per exam as rescheduling fees.

A candidate will be allowed to reschedule an exam only once to the next available administration in India. If the candidate fails to take the rescheduled exam and does not submit a cancellation request, registration fees will be forfeited. The deadlines are given on CPIM- important dates page

Cancellations
Please follow the APICS guidelines given in the bulletin. Cancellation amounts Rs 4,410/-  per CPIM exam will be refunded after approx. 2-3 months. The deadlines are given on CPIM- important dates page.

Medical or Other Emergencies on Your Test Day
Please follow the APICS guidelines given in the bulletin. Each rescheduling request must accompany a draft @ Rs.4, 000 per exam. If exam is cancelled on medical ground, Rs. 5,460/- per exam will be refunded back after appx. 6-8 weeks. The deadlines are given on CPIM- important dates page

How to Order Exam Content Manual?
Exam Content Manuals should be ordered from APICS directly. KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED neither stocks and sells, nor imports against an order, the Exam Content Manuals. The price of 2008 CPIM Exam Content Manual (stock #09051) is $36 for non-members and $24 for APICS members. In addition, you must also add shipping and handling charges of $25 per manual to your remittance, which must be sent in advance. Members must clearly mention their membership number. You can get the dollar draft issued from your bank. The order must be sent directly to APICS Customer Service at APICS headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia (not to KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED).

How to Access Primary References? ( also see Study References on our site)

It is strongly advised that you prepare for exams using primary reference materials. If you do not have access to the primary references, you may look for following options:

     these are not available in India readily. For prices of primary reference materials, and how to

     in the catalogue, you will have to pay shipping and handling charges, which vary from 25% to
     50% of cost of educational materials. You must request for a quotation from APICS Customer
     Service before you place an order and request a dollar draft from your bank. APICS ships the
     publications within 48 hours after receiving your payment, via a courier.

Additional Study Options
It is strongly advised that you prepare for exams using primary reference materials. There is no alternative and no substitute for primary references. In addition, if you want, you can review the subject matter using following options:

  APICS Home Study Program: APICS home study courses are designed and conducted for APICS
     by the MGI Management Institute. Each course costs approx. $325 + shipping and handling for
     APICS non-members and $260 + shipping and handling for APICS members. Each course will
     take about 25 to 30 hours to complete. Contact APICS Customer Service for more details.

  Computer aided instructions and testing programs designed by Datachem Software, 222

Exam Formats
The CPIM exams are administered using a linear testing approach. The Basics of Supply Chain Management exam consists of 105 multiple-choice questions (80 operational and 25 pre-test). The other four CPIM exams consist of 75 multiple-choice questions (60 operational and 15 pre-test). You will mark your responses for these paper-and-pencil exams on answer sheet, which are separate form the exam booklet.

Time Limit
Candidates have three hours to complete each CPIM exam. Candidates who finish early may leave whenever they are ready.

Breaks
No breaks are scheduled during any CPIM exam. A candidate who needs to leave the room during the exam must notify a test centre manager before doing so. Session timing will not stop during a break.

Misconduct
The test centre manager is authorised to dismiss you from a test session for:

  creating a disturbance

  giving or receiving help

  using notes, books, wristwatch calculators, digital assistants, or other aides

  attempting to remove scratch paper from the testing room

  attempting to remove test questions (in any format) form the testing room

  failing to follow the test centre manager's directions

If you engage in any of the above forms of misconduct, your exam will not be scored and your fees will not be refunded. Furthermore, acts of misconduct will be brought to the attention of the APICS Curricula and Certification Council and the APICS Ethics Committee and may result in:

  cancellation of your prior exam scores

  revocation of your certification

  discontinuance of your membership.

In addition, because the entire question data bank, each form of exam, and all exam materials are copyrighted and are the legal property of APICS, legal action will be taken against anyone who violates the copyright laws by distributing examination content or materials through any form of reproduction. Oral or written communication of examination information is strictly prohibited and punishable by law.
 

Arrival
Candidates should arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the exam to allow enough time for check-in procedures.
 

 What You Must Bring to the Exam
Identification: Before you take an exam, you must present two forms of identification bearing your name and signature; one of these must include a recent photograph.

Examples of acceptable photo-identification include a driver's license with a photograph, a valid passport, a nation identification card, and a company identification card with a photograph. For candidates for without one of these, a notarised passport photograph will be accepted.

Acceptable secondary identification, which must bear the candidate's signature, include a credit card, debit card, cheque cashing card, or APICS membership card.

If you do not have the required identification, you will be denied access to the examination. You will be considered absent or failing to appear for the exam, and you will forfeit the full exam fee.

 What You May Bring to the Exam

  Three or four no. 2 pencils (HB pencils) with erasers

  A simple, non-programmable calculator

  You may bring a standard English-foreign language dictionary. The Test Centre Manager will
     inspect the dictionary before you are admitted to the testing room.

 What Not to Bring to the Exam

  The APICS Dictionary in any language may not be brought into the exam room

  You may not bring books or paper of any kind into the exam room. Scratch paper is provided at
     the test centre.

  Protractors, compasses, rulers, stencils, digital assistants, and other aids are not permitted. You
     may not eat, drink, or use tobacco during an exam.
 

Exam Score Information
You will receive your CPIM exam results approximately five weeks after the exam date. If you have not received your results after six weeks, contact KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED. Score reports indicate the CPIM exam(s) taken and the results-passing or failing. Candidates also will receive information on areas of weakness.

To ensure accuracy of scoring, ACT's quality control staff inspects every critical step in the scoring process and signs and dates each inspection. The quality control staff, which is independent of the staff conducting the scoring, inspects any unusually low scores and manually processes records of a random sample of candidates beginning with visual inspection of the answer sheets and continuing through verification of scores printed. The scoring and quality control measures used, which exceed industry standards, speak to ACT's commitment to quality and accuracy.

Exam results and all personal information collected are confidential. Sensitive information will not be disclosed to parties other than APICS, ACT, and KNOWERX EDUCATION (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED without your written consent.

CPIM Score Range
Fail = 265-299
Pass = 300-330
There is no longer a difference between a PASS and FPAS (pass with distinction).
The certification exams sample the APICS body of knowledge. Exam scores alone do not predict success or failure in job performance; instead, passing an exam demonstrates a high level of professional knowledge and skill.

CPIM Qualifications
Candidates must pass all five CPIM exams and receive a total scaled score of 300 or higher on each exam to earn the CPIM designation. CPIM Reconfiguration Note: All exams taken from the former CPIM program will continue to count toward certification. Please see the CPIM Reconfiguration Transition Mapping information for more details.
 

CFPIM Qualifications
The distinguishing characteristic of a Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management is the willingness to share acquired knowledge with others through presenting, teaching, publishing, and participating in APICS educational activities. This knowledge sharing must be performed above and beyond a candidate's normal job duties. To obtain the CFPIM distinction, an application form must be completed and submitted to APICS headquarters. Points are awarded based on the following criteria: CPIM exams, presentations, published works, classroom teaching, and various volunteer/practitioner activities. Basics, CPIM, and CFPIM Certificates
A candidate who passes the Basics of Supply Chain Management exam will receive a Recognition of Achievement certificate approximately six weeks after receiving a passing score on the exam.

A candidate who attains CPIM status will receive a personalized certificate approximately six weeks after receiving a passing score on the fifth exam. A CFPIM candidate will receive a personalized certificate approximately eight weeks after receipt and approval of the CFPIM application.
 

Certification Maintenance
To promote professional growth and lifelong learning, CPIM and CFPIM designees must complete the Certification Maintenance program every five years. Complete details on how to maintain the CPIM and CFPIM designations will be mailed to candidates upon successful completion of the certification requirements.
